Accelerating Action at the Chambers’ International Women’s Day 2025 celebration
February 24, 2025

Delegates are encouraged to come together on Friday 7 March in Huntingdon to discuss Accelerating Action, the campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2025. Accelerate Action is a worldwide call to acknowledge strategies, resources, and activity that positively impact women’s advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation.
Significant barriers to gender equality remain, yet with the right action and support, positive progress can be made for women everywhere. At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.
Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.
The Chamber is delighted to welcome Louise Hulland, presented on BCC Local Radio as their keynote speaker. An insightful panel discussion will take place, hosted by Faye Holland, Managing Partner of cofinitive, a Cambridge Management Consultant company, and Chair of the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce. Panellists include Councillor Daisy Blakemore-Creedon, the youngest Labour Councillor, Alex Schaafsma, Partner at Birketts, Kate Willsher, Director at Institute for Manufacturing and Rachel Nicholls, Principle and Chief Executive Officer of Inspire Education Group.
Interactive small group discussions will allow delegates to share barriers they face.
Guests will be able to continue those important conversations over a networking lunch.
