Bereaved parents have a night to remember after winning Arsenal tickets donated to EACH

Grieving parents were given a timely tonic after being treated to a five-star experience watching their beloved Arsenal.

Lifelong fan Rob Moss was offered four hospitality tickets after spotting an offer on the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) website.

Rob, 32, and partner Molly Woodward, 31, were supported by the charity following the death of six-month-old son Louie, in April 2022. Louie had been diagnosed with a brain tumour and received end-of-life care at Milton.

EACH was donated four hospitality tickets for the Gunners’ Boxing Day Premier League match against West Ham, which they won 3-1. Rob and Molly, who live in Peterborough, put their names forward and, after coming out of the hat, took two friends for a memorable evening at the Emirates Stadium.

“Christmas was very difficult and having the match to look forward helped and got us through the festive period,” said Rob. “Neither of us are spiritual or religious but it’s a positive memory that we can forever attach to Louie.

“I’m a massive Arsenal fan and so are my family. We’re actually in the process of organising a plaque with Louie’s name to go up at the Emirates.

“I know tickets sometimes get donated and was keeping an eye out, so couldn’t believe it when I saw the offer for the West Ham game on Boxing Day. It was such a special day and not just because of the actual match. It was the complete experience, including a five-course meal and drinks before watching the game from premium seats. We had the chance to meet the family who donated the tickets and it was lovely to be able to thank them personally for giving us such a special opportunity. They asked us about our experiences and passed on their condolences.

“They, and everyone at the club, went the extra mile and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

In addition to watching the match, Rob and Molly also received a letter of condolence written by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
