Blooming marvellous! Flower-arranging workshop and open gardens event are being organised to support EACH

September 1, 2022

A floral fundraiser is blossoming to life and will give visitors the chance to learn from a flower-arranging professional.

Bridget Davidson, from Cambridge florist Wild Rosamund, is holding a special workshop at Histon Manor, in Park Lane, on Saturday 10 September from 10.30am until 12.30pm. All proceeds will go to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The workshop has been organised to coincide with the following day’s inaugural Histon and Impington Dahlia Show. Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds before or after the session. Tea and homemade cake will be provided and there will be time to ask questions.

A ‘fun, relaxed but educational morning’ is promised and the workshop is suitable for both beginners and those more advanced. Bridget is giving her time free of charge so maximum funds can be raised for EACH, which has a hospice at nearby Milton. Tickets cost £45, with an early-bird price of £35 for the first five sold. In total, there will be 15 places. For more information or to book, visit histonmanor@gmail.com

Meanwhile, another event in aid of EACH is taking place at Histon Manor the following day – Sunday 11 September. The venue is hosting an open gardens event, complete with dahlia and cake competitions. There will also be talks by guest speakers.

The open gardens run from 1.00-4.00pm and entry is £2.00. Entry to the competitions is free.
