Businesses encouraged to invite employees’ work from home companions to Yappy Hour video call
April 8, 2021
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is asking businesses to let employees put their work from home companions in the spotlight, as part of a feel-good fundraiser to coincide with World Pet Day.
Pets have been the companions of many working from home throughout three lockdowns, so EACH believes its Yappy Hour this Friday (9 April) is a purr-fect op-paw-tunity to celebrate them ahead of World Pet Day this Sunday.
Sema Hussein, EACH Corporate Fundraising Manager, said: “This is not so much a bring your pet day to work day, but a bring your pet to the next Zoom, Skype or Microsoft Teams call, in exchange for a donation to EACH.
“Yappy Hour is a fun and different end to a Friday, at the same time allowing businesses to help ensure some of the region’s most vulnerable families continue getting the vital care and support they need.”
EACH has been forecasting a deficit throughout the pandemic, owing to disruption to fundraising activities and it shops, and this remains the case for at least the next 12 months. At the same time its care and support has become more important than ever.
For more information on setting up your own Yappy Hour contact Lottie Driver, EACH Corporate Fundraiser, at lottie.driver@each.org.uk or on 01223 800765.
Participating businesses are being encouraged to share images from their calls using the hashtag #YappyHourforEACH.
