Buy original art and make a difference at the ‘Celebrate your world’ charity art exhibition
January 30, 2020
Make a difference for Rowan’s student artists – adults with learning disabilities – by coming along to their second charity art exhibition taking place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February at Chesterton Community College.
Artists have been buying canvases from Rowan at £10 each and the works they’ve created include paintings, textiles, mixed media, sculpture and the like. All the work will be on sale anonymously at just £45 each. That’s the same price whether the art is by an accomplished professional or an inspired amateur. So, while we can’t suggest you’ll get a Banksy you may well bag a bargain!
“We are now having canvases coming back every day with over 150 people involved in our exhibition,” says Hetti Wood, Marketing Manager at Rowan. “The money raised at our events is vital to the day-to-day running of Rowan. The work we do supports our student artists, adults with learning disabilities, to create artwork, build confidence and self-worth. We are also pleased to announce that Cheffins will be our main event sponsor for the event!”
Bill King, Chairman of Cheffins, said: “Cheffins is proud to be supporting an excellent local charity that does such great work in enhancing the lives of people with learning disabilities through the arts.
“We look forward to seeing the results of the art exhibition.”
Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February, 11.00am to 4.00pm each day. Free entry, live music and refreshments available. Parking is also available on site at the bottom of Bateson Road in the playground.
