Domino Invests in new Knowledge Centre
June 12, 2024
A Cambridge company is strengthening its commitment to its global customer base with the opening of a new state-of-the-art Print and Apply Knowledge Centre, providing a designated space for product testing and demonstrations.
Domino’s new facility has been designed to support manufacturers from the food and beverage, pharma, industrial and logistics sectors, to ensure that new products, solutions and support are aligned with individual customer requirements.
Print and Apply labelling allows users to create and apply labels directly onto a product and its packaging, carrying data such as alphanumeric text, barcodes, serialisation, 2D codes, QR codes, addressing, personalisation and graphics, in an accurate and cost-effective way.
Located in Malmö, Sweden, Domino’s Knowledge Centre will not only be the base for Print and Apply product testing and demonstrations, but also ongoing product development and support for Domino’s regional distribution centres with the roll out of its latest generation of Print and Apply machines, the Mx-Series.
At the Centre’s opening, Jan Lindgren, Customer Operations and Site Director, Domino Sweden, said: “Our new Print and Apply Knowledge Centre will help us to roll out the latest, most modern developments in Print and Apply technology, and provide a space for virtual and face-to-face print and apply product testing, training, and education.”
The new facility is equipped with two modular and adjustable conveyor systems, designed to replicate customer production lines for both product and pallet labelling. It has been designed with the flexibility to offer both in-person and virtual visits through live streaming, to ensure accessibility for Domino customers regardless of where they are located.
Tony McNulty, Chief Product Officer at Domino, concluded: “Our new Print and Apply Knowledge Centre is the latest example of our ongoing commitment and continued investment in helping our customers achieve their goals. It will ensure that we can continue to develop our expertise and add value through solutions focused on the outcomes of our global customer base.”
Print and Apply labelling delivers a range of benefits to manufacturers including helping to reduce scrap reruns, human error and labour costs, enabling a greater focus on meeting customer demands and core requirements.
