Domino Printing’s Global Learning Initiative hits the mark
April 25, 2023
A Cambridge company recently introduced an initiative to encourage learning across its global network – resulting in employees completing more than 4,000 activities over a four-week period.
Domino Printing rolled out Global Learning Month to inspire its employees to take ownership of their own continuous improvement journey and to reach their personal potential.
Activities designed to support the company’s learning culture were divided into three strands: understanding Domino better, developing a skillset for the future and focussing on the individual, by enhancing skills unrelated to work.
A calendar of activities was created, with subjects ranging from learning more about Domino as a business and its technologies through to sharing recipes as part of the ‘individual’ strand, which resulted in the production of the ‘Domino World Cuisine Book’.
Sessions were delivered in-person and also virtually to enable maximum participation across the company’s different locations and time zones.
Over the month, a total of 3,000 employees globally took part, with India, Korea, Mexico and the UK coming out as top learners. Around 2,330 hours were dedicated to learning and 4,000 activities were completed. More than 2,770 views were recorded on the company’s Learning Month intranet page and the most popular session was on ‘Leading with Emotional Intelligence’.
The initiative received very positive feedback from participants who welcomed the reminder to improve skills or learn something new.
Emma Payne, Head of Leadership & Talent Development at Domino said: “This was our first Global Learning Month and we were thrilled to see how well it was received throughout the business. The mix of activities engaged everyone and reinforced the importance of continuing to learn, whatever stage you are in your career.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their support, especially my team who have been amazing, organising the sessions and creating the content. I’m really proud of their achievements!”
