East Anglian travel company continuing to provide vital charity support despite huge pressure on the industry
July 9, 2021
A regional travel agency continues to provide unwavering support for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) despite its industry being among the hardest hit by the pandemic.
Premier Travel is an independent travel agency, with various branches across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and beyond.
It sponsored an arch at the sell-out Norwich Bubble Rush over the weekend and will be doing the same at the Huntingdon Bubble Rush, at Huntingdon Racecourse on Saturday 24 July. It will also sponsor an obstacle at Splash Out! The brand new fundraising event takes place at Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds, this Sunday (11 July).
In addition, in celebration of Premier Travel’s 85th anniversary, employees decided to walk a combined 8,500 miles in 85 days, with the hope of raising £8,500. Having reached 8,500 miles sooner than expected, the challenge has been extended to 24,000 miles, the equivalent of going around the world.
Members of staff are taking part in Pier to Pier, the sell-out fundraising walk from Great Yarmouth to Cromer, and the Cambridge Half Marathon.
Steve Cox, Premier Travel Sales Manager, said: “EACH provides a lifeline for families at what is a very difficult time for us all. That’s why we decided to fundraise throughout 2021 for this very worthy cause as we celebrate our 85th anniversary this year.
“We’ve enjoyed taking part in the challenges already and are looking forward to participating in the forthcoming ones that will hopefully enable us to hit our £8,500 target.”
Caroline Allen, EACH Norfolk Corporate Fundraiser, said: “Premier Travel is still as engaged as ever in supporting EACH, amazing considering the horrendous year it’s been for the travel industry, and we really just wanted to say a massive thank you. Charities have also been severely impacted by the last year of restrictions and EACH needs backing from businesses to help ensure vital care and support reaches families going through unimaginably tough times.”
EACH has been forecasting a deficit throughout the pandemic as a result of disruption to fundraising and retail activities, and this remains the case for at least the next 12 months. To find out more about and book for the charity’s returning events visit www.each.org.uk/each-events.
