Lead sponsors announced for Cambridgeshire County Day
December 21, 2021
The Organising Committee has announced Marshall of Cambridge and The Hill Group as initial lead sponsors of the inaugural Cambridgeshire County Day, which will take place on Thursday 23 June 2022 at the July Course, Newmarket, Cambridgeshire, in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
Cambridgeshire County Day intends to showcase the very best from the Cambridgeshire business, charity, community and public sectors and almost 50 organisations, of all sizes, across a variety of industries, and from all corners of the County, have already asked to be involved in the day.
Thanks to the generosity of all of its sponsors and supporters Cambridgeshire County Day will aim to raise significant funds for the new world-leading Cambridge-based Regional Children’s Hospital and the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Fund.
Andy Hill, Chief Executive at The Hill Group, comments: “As long-term investors in the Cambridge area, we are delighted to be supporting the upcoming Cambridgeshire County Day. We look forward to the event in June, which will celebrate the incredible talent and innovations in the area, and help raise vital funds for a new children’s hospital and the excellent work that the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Fund does for the local community.”
Kathy Jenkins, Group Chief Executive of Marshall, says: “As a company with such a strong connection to Cambridgeshire, we are delighted to support this flagship event to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, bringing together businesses and organisations from across our county to help inspire future generations and raise money for two such important local causes.”
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Chris Parkhouse, Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, says: “With over six months still to go until Cambridgeshire County Day, we are very encouraged by the positive response we have already received from businesses, charities, voluntary groups, sports clubs and youth groups from all over the County – from Ely, to Peterborough, to Huntingdon, to Cambridge city. The day is going to be so important for raising vital funds for the new Regional Children’s Hospital, as well as Cambridgeshire Community Foundation’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Fund, and we couldn’t do it without the help of our sponsors.”
Cambridgeshire County Day, which is being organised by the Lieutenancy of Cambridgeshire in partnership with key organisations across the County, will be open to all communities, faiths and cultures in the County. The day will highlight the best of Cambridgeshire organisations, while inspiring future generations with an unrivalled display of innovation, ambition, commitment and passion. Both schools and the general public from across Cambridgeshire are welcome to attend, and it is anticipated that over 6,000 people will be there on the day.
