Raft of private client hires at Ashtons Legal

Ashtons Legal LLP has further expanded its Lifetime Planning team with a number of significant hires.

In the past three months Ashtons has welcomed one new senior associate, an associate, a tax accountant and three paralegals to its lifetime planning and tax and trusts teams in Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.

Natalie Westgate is Ashtons’ newest senior associate and has joined esteemed partner Alan Brown in Bury St Edmunds. Natalie specialises in the drafting of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Estate Planning, as well as Probate and Estate Administration including foreign assets, and the administration of Trusts, including Charitable Trust advice. She is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).

Richard Tinkler joined the firm late in 2022 as an associate in Bury St Edmunds. Richard also specialises in the drafting of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Estate Planning, as well as Probate and Estate Administration. Richard is a member of two of STEP’s Special Interest Groups: Cross-Border Estates and International Client Special Interest Groups.

Laura Prime is Ashtons’ new Tax Accountant. Laura has worked in a tax role for 10 years at accountancy firms in Bury St Edmunds and Ely, and has joined the Bury St Edmunds based Tax and Trusts Team. She is joined by Millie Nicoll who has moved across from the firm’s Court of Protection team as a paralegal.

Also based in Bury St Edmunds is new junior paralegal, Jana Goodchild. In Cambridge Syeda Mahfuz has joined the team there as a junior paralegal. Ashtons’ lifetime planning paralegals assist the teams in drafting Wills, preparation of Powers of Attorney, as well as Estate Administration and Probate.
