The next District 1070 Senior RYLA takes place from Saturday 3rd August at 4pm to Saturday 10th August 2024 finishing at 6pm
What does RYLA offer?
- Gain exposure to leadership scenarios
- Explore problem-solving strategies as part of a team
- Discuss and apply creative approaches to leadership and conflict management
- Build confidence in yourself and what you can achieve
- Meet new people and make lasting friendships
- Learn how to arrange youth activities and community service projects at locally and internationally
A personal development of 8 days (7 nights) activities including:
- Water sports
- Practical Initiative Tests
- Development of Interpersonal Skills
- Camping
- Map Reading
- Problem Solving
- Computer based business game
- Lectures & Presentations
RYLA will cost approximately £800 per person. This can be funded in different ways :
- Jointly with a local Rotary club
- Or by approaching local company/college/university with a young workforce to sponsor the whole or part of the cost
Who is eligible?
RYLA programmes involve physical challenges so can be demanding. Some degree of fitness is required. The District 1070 RYLA course is open to people aged 18 to 26 and is held at Grafham Water Centre Grafham Water Centre – land and water based activities for schools, youth groups and individuals (grafham-water-centre.co.uk). Applicants must commit themselves to the whole week.
