Rowan seeks artists to be part of annual art exhibition
October 15, 2021
Cambridge-based charity Rowan is hosting an art exhibition this February – and you’re invited to take part!
The exhibition will raise funds for the charity, which uses the arts to support adults with learning disabilities.
Artists – whether professional or beginners – are invited to buy a canvas from the charity, and then create an artwork on it inspired by the theme ‘The Great Outdoors’. The exhibition will take place early next year at Rowan, with all artworks being sold anonymously and proceeds going to the charity.
“There’s a thriving creative scene in Cambridge, so this is a great opportunity to celebrate our local talent while raising money for a fantastic cause,” said Fundraising Events Manager Ellie Breeze. “We had to postpone this exhibition last year due to Covid-19, so it would be great to make this event the biggest yet by inviting everyone to get involved!”
The last exhibition featured live music from local musicians and a silent auction featuring specially donated artworks. It raised over £6,000 for the charity, which provides a variety of arts workshops for adults with learning disabilities, including print, ceramics and textiles.
Canvases can be bought and collected from Rowan (40 Humberstone Road, Cambridge, CB4 1JG) Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.00pm, or online at www.rowanhumberstone.co.uk/rowan-artwork. For more information contact ellie@rowanhumberstone.co.uk or call 01223 566027. Completed canvases should be submitted by 11 February 2022.
