Chamber to host ‘Freedom Day’ event with the Mayor

In partnership with the Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Dr Nik Johnson, the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce are welcoming businesses to their ‘Freedom Day’ event on Monday 19 July, at The Apex Coffee House on Lancaster Way Business Park in Ely.

This event is an opportunity to get together face-to-face safely to help overcome the challenges in bringing employees back to the workplace. With a keynote speech from the Mayor, the opportunity to network and catch up with other professionals, and finally be able to celebrate ‘Freedom Day’ this is a long awaited event.

Dr Nik Johnson, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, commented: “I know this region’s businesses will be leading the way when it comes to the safe return to work of employees and I look forward to hearing about their plans. I’m also really interested to learn from businesses their thoughts on the future impacts of Covid-19 on work patterns generally, because that will in turn affect transport planning, for which I am responsible.

“And after such a long period of primarily digital meetings, it is fantastic to see safe in-person networking events like this happening again within our business community. Their absence has highlighted their importance.”

Vic Annells, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “We want to see you face-to-face to hear what you have to say about returning to the workplace, for many the first time since Covid began. Through safely coming together, and being joined by the Mayor, we hope to encourage confidence within our returning workforce. We hope you will join us at this inspiring event.”
