Donate Educational Supplies For Children with The Grafton and Star Radio
February 26, 2021
At Star Radio, we’re pleased to be supporting The Grafton’s Giving For Education campaign – and we need your help.
Remote learning during the pandemic’s left many children falling behind with their studies due to lack of technology, web access, books and other kit.
Recent figures suggest around 8,000 children and young people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough don’t have access to a laptop or PC and more than 3,000 don’t have proper access to the internet at home.
Regardless of the equipment they have at home, when pupils do return to the classroom, there’s a vast amount of catching up to do for months to come, which is why having adequate educational equipment, supplies, computers and internet access will still be vital.
How you can help
Working with local charities, we have a wishlist of items that are needed to help get children’s education back on track.
The easiest way you can participate is to make a donation for our dedicated GoFundMe campaign.
For example, just £10 provides two text books, £50 pays for a wifi extender, while £200 gets a child a tablet computer.
You can also drop off brand new items at the collecting box located in the centre near the Fitzroy Street entrance of The Grafton, if you’re doing essential shopping within the area.
So come on, let’s teach our children just how much we care.
