Join North Cambridgeshire Training Centre (NCTC) for an inspiring morning celebrating the achievements and opportunities for women in engineering and construction. This free event offers a fantastic opportunity to network with industry professionals while enjoying complimentary fruit, pastries, and drinks.
We are excited to welcome Charlotte Horobin, CEO of the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, and Nicola Oldfield, Chief Engineer from Middle Level Commissioners, as our guest speakers. They will share valuable insights on leadership, career opportunities, and their personal experiences in the industry.
Guest Speaker: Charlotte Horobin; CEO Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce
Charlotte became CEO of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce in July 2023.
Before joining the Chamber she held the position of Region Director, Midlands and East of England at Make UK, the national body for UK manufacturing (formerly EEF).
Charlotte is responsible for leading the representation of the Chamber’s membership and holds numerous positions including being a member of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority Business Board and Chairs the Skills & Employment Board. Charlotte has formerly held positions on the Midlands Engine Partnership Board, she was a Board Director of the West Midlands Growth Company and has experience of working across a number of local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) and Local Authorities. She is also the Chair of the Strategic Advisory Board for InterAct a £4.4 million Made Smarter Innovation funded, Economic and Social Research Council-led network. She is also a member of the University of Cambridge Industry Advisory Board at the Institute for Manufacturing.
She was recognised in the The Manufacturer Top 100 in 2022 and the Trade Association Forum, Women in Trade Association Forum’s Powerlist 2023.
Guest Speaker: Nicola Oldfield; Chief Engineer from Middle Level Commissioners
Nicola is an Incorporated Engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. She began her career as a Trainee Civil Engineering Technician and is now Chief Engineer at Middle Level Commissioners, responsible for managing flood risk, land drainage, navigation and the natural environment across 70,000ha of the Cambridgeshire Fens.
Nicola has worked in both engineering consultancy and client organisations and has delivered multi-million-pound projects locally, benefitting people, property and businesses in and around March, Chatteris and Whittlesey.
