Businesses (and other organisations that are trading and) based in Business Rate-registered commercial premises in Cambridge can apply this winter for Green Business Grants of up to £10,000 to help reduce their carbon emissions.
These Green Business Grants are available for a range of improvements including: better insulation, energy management systems; solar photovoltaic panels; low‑energy lighting; energy efficiency and water-saving measures; or buying electric bicycles to reduce reliance on petrol/diesel-run company vehicles.
No ‘match-funding’ is expected, though businesses may choose to top up the grants with their own money for larger carbon-saving projects. Grants will be paid to successful applicants by 31 March 2022. Businesses will need to complete the improvements and show how these are making a difference within the following year.
The closing date for applications is 5.00pm on Friday 11 March 2022 or sooner, once all the funding available for the Green Business Grants has been allocated. Fully completed applications will be assessed on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
