U’s legends return to the Abbey for a Charity Match that you can feature in
September 6, 2019
Mick George Ltd will be holding their annual Charity Match held at the Abbey Stadium on Friday 11 October, 7.00pm kick-off.
It is the fifth consecutive year that the event has been held, cumulatively raising £15,000 for various charitable causes.
Supporters will be given the opportunity to play on the Abbey Stadium pitch alongside U’s legends, utilising the changing room, tunnel and dugout area, before taking to the pitch.
Club legends that have previously featured in the event include: Trevor Benjamin, Max Rushden, Andy Sinton, Luke Chadwick, Paul Kitson, Ian Miller, Paul Wanless, John Taylor, Danny Potter, Omer Riza, Micah Hyde, Jack Collison, Wayne Hatswell, Jez George and Richard Money.
Each player will be given a minimum of 60 minutes action. Family and friends are welcome (FOC) and can also attend the post-match presentation and refreshments.
A complimentary replica shirt with your name printed on the reverse will also be supplied.
This once in a lifetime opportunity is available at its lowest ever price, just £99. All proceeds will go to charity.
Limited spaces available. Visit www.mickgeorge.co.uk/charitymatch19.html to guarantee your place.
The event has previously featured many club favourites and this year will be no different, with five former players already signed up – and more to come!
Jon Stump, Joint CEO at Mick George Ltd, commented: “Having been fortunate to be involved in the match for the previous four events, I’ve had first-hand experience of the excitable atmosphere that was present at these matches.
“For supporters, the chance to play with club legends that they’ve only been able to watch in the past is a magical experience. Despite carrying a few more grey hairs, some of the legends certainly still have a high level of quality, as they did in their prime.”
