Chief Executive – Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce

Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce

Closing: 21/04/2023

As Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce’s Chief Executive, you will curate greater success for the organisation and, most importantly, its member population.

You will position the Chamber where it belongs – as the authoritative voice championing and representing businesses in the region and delivering best practice, expert advice and commercial opportunity to a broad stakeholder community. You will have access to highly influential groups and individuals and must be confident in challenging them to bring about positive action. This will include working across the complex political and socio-economic environment, and ensuring the organisation remains apolitical in its endeavours.

Reporting to the Chamber’s Group Board of Directors, the Chief Executive provides leadership by overseeing the organisation’s strategic and operational performance. The successful candidate will be able to translate business plans and goals into clearly defined strategies that excite the highly effective team to deliver measurable success, which will engage the current and future member population.

The Chief Executive is the custodian of the Chamber’s constitutional commitment to always act in the ‘best interest of its members’ and will ensure that our services remain relevant, are valued, and contribute to the financial stability of the organisation.

As Chief Executive, you must demonstrate high levels of commercial acumen with experience in managing seven-figure P&Ls.

You must have the necessary presence and gravitas to build followership from your team, your current and future members, and external stakeholders.

The Chamber exists to help our members grow and prosper. As such, the successful candidate will ensure that the needs of the local business community remain visible and on the agenda of policymakers and stakeholders on a local and national basis.

You will bring meaningful opportunities for established and emerging organisations to meet, exchange expertise and insight, and ultimately create appetite and opportunity to do business together.

Due to the level of interaction with Chamber members across the region, including breakfast and evening events, the successful candidate must be based within Cambridgeshire and be ready to work across the whole county to ensure this influential role is delivered with maximum impact.

The package is extremely competitive, subject to experience.

The closing date for applications is by 5.00pm on 21 April 2023 with interviews scheduled for May.
