About Us
Allia is a charity that helps small businesses and charities to develop, grow and achieve their impact aims, in a range of ways. From its Future Business Centres that support local business communities; its support programmes that help entrepreneurs and ventures to grow their ideas and businesses; and through advising and arranging finance for charitable organisations. We are an equal opportunities employer who embraces diversity, inclusion and flexible working. We offer a great working environment, true team working ethos, good benefits and much more.

Allia Impact Ltd has successfully delivered two 6 home schemes of relocatable modular homes in Cambridge and Wisbech, designed to make use of temporary and/or marginal sites to provide cost-effective housing for people to move out of rough sleeping, and deliver high quality, long life and low-cost housing that is easy for housing/wider charities/organisations to then manage.

We are setting up a national support service that will support and facilitate any community in the country to develop their own successful schemes. We will develop resources, advice and design training sessions in order to see at least 30 new projects and 200 new homes being planned and built over the next three years.

What’s this job about?
Developing a national initiative to apply major learning from Allia and other modular housing communities tackling homelessness.

Delivering at least 20 new projects and 200 new homes by 2026 completed or underway over 3 years.

Inspiring others by sharing on our expertise and Tool Box.

Identifying and securing suitable sites and planning approvals. Working with partners and leading UK modular home builders.

Building successful communities with integrated contracts to budget, quality objectives and timetables.

As the Housing Development Lead, you will support the Allia Future Homes Project Manager by taking responsibility for delivering the technical aspects of each local project. You will coordinate expert advice from partner companies involved in the project so that schemes can secure planning, and progress to construction and occupation stages as efficiently and economically as possible.

You will do this using the existing process guide, and work towards standardising the template documents in the ‘Tool Box’, to provide support for local groups to design a solution for their sites, prepare to apply for planning permission and identify support and partners. Direct involvement in early projects may be necessary.
