LSIP Project Manager

We are one of 53 accredited British Chambers of Commerce, and you will be working alongside an outstanding team which covers the whole Cambridgeshire region.

The primary activity in this role is to ensure the delivery of the region’s Local Skills Improvement Plan, which the Chamber are delivering on behalf of the Department for Education. Working with stakeholders from across the region to align post-16 education training provision with the needs of local business, the project manager will provide regular updates to the Chamber Board of Directors and the Department for Education and ensure that the project team have everything they need to deliver.

Duties include:

· To monitor, report on and address project performance to ensure timely delivery

· To compile project status reports for management, stakeholders and the DfE

· To work effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project planning and implementation, including delivery partners

· To agree and manage contracts with delivery partners

· To plan and manage the project budget subject to DfE and Board of Directors’ approval

· To identify and keep abreast of project requirements, delivery timelines and costs throughout the project life cycle

· To develop and maintain detailed project plans to guide the team and delivery partners, revising as appropriate according to changing needs and requirements

· To provide line management to the Chamber’s LSIP Project Team

· To design and lead work to understand stakeholder views on the skills environment of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, leading discussions on skills as well as understanding and supporting wider business aims

· To develop and maintain relationships with both member and non-member businesses, actively listening to the needs of businesses and making appropriate referrals and introductions

· To represent the Chamber at events and facilitate business introductions to provide additional value to both member and non-member businesses through the LSIP project

· To maintain accurate and timely records via the Chamber’s CRM system

· Support the development of other projects aligned to the Chamber’s economic, education and skills missions.

The Ideal Candidate:

· Experience managing multiple stakeholders and leading teams of both internal colleagues and external delivery partners

· Ability to take an opportunity and produce a robust plan and business case

· Strong networking and communication skills to represent the Chamber with stakeholders across the region

· Strong written communication skills for producing clear reports and publications

· Excellent listening skills with the ability to interpret information and make connections

· Commercially astute – a broad understanding of business needs, such as finance, marketing and sales and the challenges that SMEs face

· Proactive and highly motivated to make change happen

· A broad understanding of the region’s skills agenda is desirable

· Full UK driving license and suitable car insured for business use

· Experience working with DFE projects
