How developing a culture of trust can lead to a more successful business

February 1, 2022

Trust – especially in business – is a two-way street and has the potential to breakdown in either direction.

However, explored and developed in the correct way, trust can lead to outstanding results and create high performing teams, says ‘business consultant’ Russell Atkinson.

Russell will be sharing his many years of experience with other professionals around the region during a virtual workshop later this month, organised by Peterborough-based recruitment firm Anne Corder Recruitment.

Former CEO of NAHL Group plc, Russell has a background in general management with a particular interest in corporate culture and employee engagement. He said: “A lack of trust can lead to individuals questioning the motivations of people they are working with or for and therefore can lead to inefficiency and a toxic atmosphere.

“Trust issues can have a direct impact on corporate culture, employee relations and business performance. It can lead to a high turnover of staff and a lack of engagement amongst employees.”

‘The Importance of Trust’ online session takes place on Wednesday 16 February, where Russell will be exploring the subject of Trust in Organisations and how it can be used to develop high performance teams.

Anne Corder Recruitment Managing Director Nel Woolcott said: “We are thrilled to be kicking off our new season of online sessions with such an interesting topic and are delighted that it is being delivered by Russell.

“We started these virtual workshops during lockdown, as many of our HR and other contacts were unable to attend in person. The demand has grown over the past 18 months, we are now able to offer these insightful, engaging and entertaining sessions to professional attendees much further afield and on a more regular basis.

“Our wide range of topics centre very much around the challenges being faced by employers and HR professionals, as well as offering the very latest employment law information.”
