Egg-citing Easter egg hunt to take place at Peterborough Cathedral, Bank Holiday Monday

March 20, 2023

On Easter Monday Peterborough Cathedral is inviting families to have egg-cellent fun hunting down clues that will lead them to their own full-size Fairtrade chocolate egg.

The giant egg-shaped clues will be dotted around the Cathedral, both inside and out, and once you have found them all and solved the puzzle you can claim a Real Easter Egg, complete with an illustrated booklet telling the Easter story.

Alex Carton, Head of Learning and Engagement at the Cathedral, said: “You don’t have to be an egg-head to solve the riddle in our Easter trail, it is something that all ages can do together. Just come along to explore the beautiful location as you search for the clues and learn more about Easter. The trail is free for anyone not claiming an egg, but you do need to book for them as well as for the ones who’ll claim their chocolate prize.”

Masteroast, the independently owned coffee roasting and packing company based in Peterborough, is sponsoring the Easter egg hunt. Their Chairman, Les Mills, said: “We are delighted to support the Cathedral in providing this opportunity for families to have fun and celebrate Easter. As a company we have a long track record of supporting the Fairtrade movement through our coffee supply chain, so the choice of Fairtrade chocolate is absolutely the right one and we are glad to have helped this to happen.”

The Peterborough Cathedral Easter Egg Hunt runs on Monday 10 April 2023 from 10.30am until 4.00pm, with last entry at 3.15pm.

Tickets are £5 for anyone claiming a chocolate egg, and free for accompanying friends and family (booking still required). Advanced booking is strongly advised and you can book tickets via the Cathedral website. [https://www.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/143/section.aspx/142/easter_egg_hunt].
