Just Over One Week Left to Support Peterborough Cathedral’s Crisis Campaign

March 24, 2025

Peterborough Cathedral’s Cathedral in Crisis Campaign is entering its final week, with just over £200,000 raised to date, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of over 1,000 individual donors. With the finish line in sight, the Cathedral is making a final appeal to the community to help it get as close as possible to its £300,000 target.

The funds raised are vital to ensuring the Cathedral can remain open 7 days a week in 2025 and continue its long-term plans for sustainability. Without the necessary financial support, the Cathedral’s ability to serve as a place of worship, heritage, and community gathering is at risk.

We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of those who have already donated,” said Head of Fundraising Anna Bentley, “Every pound raised makes a difference, and with just over a week to go, we are urging everyone who values the Cathedral to give what they can. Together, we can secure its future.”

What Your Donations Could Support:

  • £2.50 – Could buy 50 candles for remembering loved ones
  • £5 – Half a day of activity for a child during the Easter holidays
  • £10 – Seeds for the Cathedral’s wildflower garden
  • £20 – Tools and equipment for the volunteer gardening team
  • £50 – Tree maintenance or mowing the West Lawn
  • £250 – Funding for an evensong service to take place

Every donation, no matter how small, directly supports the Cathedral’s ability to continue offering worship, education, and a welcoming space for the community.

There is still time to support the Cathedral in Crisis Campaign. Donations can be made online, in person, or by phone. With your help, Peterborough Cathedral can remain a beacon of hope and heritage for generations to come.
