Covers Band ‘Shakeout’ to help Peterborough shake off the Covid blues

May 20, 2021

Peterborough Cathedral’s dramatic Cloister is the setting for a long-awaited post-lockdown concert featuring three of the UK’s top session musicians, who’ve collaborated with Elton John and Fleetwood Mac among others.

‘Shakeout’, the popular covers band, will provide the entertainment at the concert on Saturday 26 June as the summer season of ‘Live in the Cloisters’ events at the Cathedral gets into full swing.

“As with all of our activities for the public post-lockdown, it’s all about ‘safety first’ and ensuring that our visitors feel confident about coming here”, said the Cathedral’s Commercial Director Dave Cramp.

“Quality acts like ‘Shakeout’ are guaranteed to attract fans of pop and rock ‘n’ roll and our marvellous Cloister gives the public that sense of space and reassurance.”

The band’s repertoire covers hits from the 1960s through to the present day – covering such bands as the Beatles, The Kaiser Chiefs and Maroon 5. You can hear a clip of the band playing on YouTube here https://youtu.be/4G585OSIZAQ.

BBQ Nights will be there selling delicious BBQ fayre, including vegetarian and vegan options, and there will be a pay-bar selling wine, beer and soft drinks.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start. Tickets cost £20 each or buy 5 and get one free. Tickets are available via the Cathedral website.
